Passages: December
Less than two weeks before the Winter Solstice. The much needed rains came yesterday and more expected during the next few days. Looking out of the window I see the Gingko trees have lost most of their bright yellow leaves. There are piles of leaves on the street. They, too, will disappear soon, scattered by winds.

Come, come thou bleak December wind,
And blow the dry leaves from the tree!
